Position Summary:

As the Associate Director of Paid Social & Search

, you'll lead a team in crafting and executing cutting-edge digital media strategies for paid search and social campaigns for both our eCommerce and lead generation clients. This pivotal role demands not only the expertise to cultivate strong team and client connections, but also the drive to spearhead innovative paid social and search strategies for major North American brands across platforms such as Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, Meta, and Microsoft Advertising.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of 5+ digital media professionals, fostering development through ongoing feedback, weekly team meetings, and 1:1 check-ins.
  • Oversee and execute strategic media planning and performance marketing efforts across paid search and paid social for enterprise-level clients.
  • Manage and optimize ad accounts to achieve client KPIs, ensuring campaigns are effectively paced within budget allocations.
  • Deliver insightful performance reports with storytelling elements; collaborate with clients to review data and drive improvements.
  • Act as a senior resource for the team, providing training, guidance, and support on executional best practices.
  • Drive consistent communication across teams and accounts, streamlining workflows and reinforcing agency best practices.
  • Present strategic recommendations and performance updates internally and externally through clear and compelling presentations or reports.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities within existing client relationships.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key partners (e.g. Google, Meta, Microsoft, TikTok, YouTube, Pinterest, and third-party vendors).
  • Contribute to internal thought leadership efforts, such as developing POVs and blog posts on digital media trends.
  • Participate in hiring and team growth initiatives as needed.
  • Ensure timely, high-quality delivery of all media initiatives in line with client goals.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in digital media, with hands-on expertise across both paid search and paid social.
  • Proven experience leading and developing a team, ideally in an agency or fast-paced digital environment.
  • Deep understanding of multi-channel digital strategy and execution, particularly for eCommerce and lead gen campaigns.
  • Strong ability to optimize and pace campaigns to meet performance targets and budget requirements.
  • Proficient in trafficking, website tagging, and campaign execution using third-party tools and platforms.
  • Demonstrated track record of consistently exceeding performance goals through smart strategy and hands-on management.
  • Ability to build strong client and internal relationships, with a focus on service and partnership.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills—both written and verbal.
  • Curious and proactive in staying current on industry trends, especially around emerging technologies and AI tools.
  • Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively under pressure, managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Post-secondary education in marketing, advertising, or a related field is preferred.
