About the role
Moira Place, Long-Term Care Home is currently looking for motivated, organized, and energetic part time Housekeeping / Laundry Aides who share in our passion for providing superior levels of service to our residents. Housekeeping/Laundry Aides are responsible for the complete cleaning of resident rooms, offices, and common areas.
Responsibilities:
- Duties include but are not limited to: dusting, vacuuming, cleaning windows, laundry operations, cleaning carpets, emptying garbage, making beds, cleaning washrooms and kitchenettes in accordance with procedures and schedules
- Additional duties as needed may include snow removal, gardening, light maintenance duties, floor cleaning, and seasonal cleaning
- Provide laundry service to residents as well as all linens, towels, etc; returns items in a timely fashion
- Communicate any resident concerns to the Supervisor and respond promptly and pleasantly to resident needs
Qualifications:
- Must be a grade 12 graduate
- Must be available to work varied shifts including alternating weekends and holidays
- Previous experience in housekeeping/laundry in a hospitality or residential cleaning environment is preferred
- Strong teamwork and customer service skills; in good health and physically able to complete all duties including the ability to lift up to 50lbs
