As a Procurement Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing procurement processes and operations across the company. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Procurement, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining the efficiency of procurement workflows, ensuring compliance, tracking performance metrics, and providing essential insights to senior management. Your work will help drive better procurement outcomes through efficient system management, reporting, and stakeholder collaboration, with a specific focus on tracking purchase orders (POs), renewals, supplier performance, and more.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada.
What You Can Expect
- Oversee the monitoring of PO requests, ensuring timely updates and compliance with internal procurement processes and policies. This includes managing and troubleshooting user inquiries, as well as ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and aligned throughout the process.
- Regularly report on procurement-related key metrics (e.g., SLAs, MSAs, performance metrics, upcoming renewals, and items in queue) to stakeholders across legal, security, privacy, and other relevant departments. Proactively engage with stakeholders for upcoming renewals, ensuring no missed deadlines.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to assist with ZIP intakes, address user inquiries, troubleshoot issues, and resolve any procurement-related concerns. Your role will ensure a smooth flow of information and efficient procurement processes.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including cost savings, supplier performance, and purchase cycle times. Provide regular insights and detailed reports to senior management to help identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of concern within the procurement process.
- Continuously seek ways to enhance procurement systems, controls, and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce bottlenecks. Collaborate with IT and other teams to implement system improvements and streamline the procurement process.
- Assist in the management of master service agreements (MSAs) and other contractual renewals by maintaining up-to-date records, tracking expiration dates, and ensuring stakeholders are notified well in advance.
- Other activities, tasks, and responsibilities as required, as circumstances change.
What We’re Looking For
- Background in SaaS, technology, or similar fast-moving industries.
- 2+ years of experience in procurement operations, procurement analysis, or related roles. Experience with procurement systems such as ZIP or similar platforms is a plus.
- Strong experience in managing procurement processes, ensuring compliance, and tracking procurement metrics.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, particularly in legal, security, and privacy departments.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in tracking and reporting on procurement performance, savings, and supplier performance.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues and provide solutions related to procurement processes and systems.
- Proficiency in procurement and reporting tools (e.g., Excel), and experience with procurement software (such as ZIP or equivalent systems).
- Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail, especially in managing POs, renewals, and compliance tracking.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment, adjusting priorities as needed to meet deadlines and business needs.
Preferred
- Experience with vendor management and supplier performance tracking.
- Knowledge of procurement policies, systems, and workflows.
Canada-based roles only: The annual base salary for this role is between $70,000 CAD and $94,000 CAD, plus immediate participation in 1Password’s generous benefits program (health, dental, RRSP and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
