Overview:

Journeyperson Machinist or Millwright

Sureway Construction is one of Alberta’s largest heavy construction contractors, involved in; civil earthworks and grading, utilities and offsite, mine operation and aggregate extraction.

Job Type: Full Time, Permanent

Schedule: 10+ Hours per day (day shift), 5 & 2, OT after 8hr/day or 44hr/week

Location: Shop: 9175 – 14 Street NW, Edmonton, AB

Requirements:

  • Full Complement of Hand Tools
  • Personal Reliable Vehicle
  • CSA approved steel toed boots with 6” ankle support

Pre-employment:

  • Drug and alcohol testing which may be swab or urine depending on site requirements
  • Successful completion of Company Orientation and site-specific orientation
  • Fitness to Work Assessment

Journeyperson Machinist or Millwright Qualifications:

  • Must be a Journeyperson Machinist or Millwright
  • Must have a minimum four (4) years' Journeyperson experience
  • Must have a minimum three (3) years line boring.
  • Exceptional organization and cleanliness skills are REQUIRED

Journeyperson Machinist or Millwright Responsibilities:

  • Perform line boring on worn or damaged bores.
  • Accurately set up portable line boring machines and equipment.
  • Accurately measure and align bore holes for bushings, pins and other components.
  • Restore equipment to original specifications .
  • Use welding machines to prepare and restore surfaces for boring when necessary.
  • Promote, execute and adhere to the company’s safety program, and encourage all employees, subcontractors and consultants to adopt safety as a culture
