About the role

The work mode arrangement for the position is full-time on site

As an assistant chef, you assist the executive chef. You help develop and prepare menus for the executive dining room and lounges in Lévis. The ability to tailor your approach as needed is therefore essential. You draw on your sound decision-making skills to oversee kitchen operations and ensure that health and safety standards are met. More specifically, you will be required to :

  • Help create, prepare and present dishes for the executive dining room and lounges
  • Help develop and update executive dining room and lounge services. Feature local flavours
  • Help plan and order supplies. Oversee kitchen operations during meal preparation
  • Identify operational issues in the kitchen and report them to the assistant maître d’hôtel
  • Plan long-term kitchen staffing
  • Ensure health and safety standards are met for equipment maintenance and other procédures

What you bring to the table

  • Trade school diploma in a related field
  • A minimum of three years of relevant experience
  • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
  • Knowledge of French is required
