Employment Category: Part-time or full-time, if combined with hours in School Age Care programs

Hours: Part-time: 20 hours per week. Full-time: 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule with occasional weekend or evenings required.

Compensation: $25.05 - $26.00 per hour (inclusive of wage enhancements)

Nature & Scope:

Reporting to the Coordinator, Licensed Home Child Care, the Home Visitor will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring and oversight support of high quality child care providers. Providers engage in a contractual agreement with the YMCA of Eastern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides support and guidance to licensed home providers, ensuring overall compliance with respect to Ministry of Education, third party governing agencies and YMCA of Eastern Ontario regulations, policies and procedures.

  • Conducts YMCA and Ministry of Education compliance inspections.

  • Works collaboratively with Finance and the Coordinator, Licensed Home Child Care to ensure accurate billing, payroll, subsidy and budgeting reporting.

  • Identify, recruit and onboard new providers in accordance with YMCA of Eastern Ontario and Ministry of Education guidelines.

  • Support providers in filling care vacancies consistent with the terms set in their service agreement.

  • Track and monitor all documentation required by Ministry of Education, municipal funding agencies and the YMCA of Eastern Ontario.

  • Maintain open and collaborative communication between all agencies and partners.

Qualifications:

  • Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) including Vulnerable Sector Check completed not more than 120 days prior to interview, with results acceptable to the YMCA of Eastern Ontario.

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and a current member, registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and the Child Care Licensing System.

  • Up-to date-immunizations.

  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level C.

  • Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle and willingness/ability to travel in the region to conduct visits.
