Our Red Chris Mine, located in the heart of Northern British Columbia on the traditional territory of the Tahltan Nation. A short distance from Iskut and Dease Lake, Our fly-in, fly-out site offers access from various points across British Columbia and Alberta. Red Chris currently operates as an open-pit copper and gold mine with a promising future to transition to a high-value underground block cave operation. Your Impact

As General Manager of Red Chris, you will lead one of Newmont’s most critical mining operations, driving safety, operational excellence, and long-term value creation. Your leadership will shape the culture, performance, and future of the site.

As Part of Our Team, You Will

  • Champion a culture of safety, sustainability, and inclusion.
  • Lead the delivery of the 2-year operational plan with a focus on efficiency, cost control, and asset value.
  • Build and empower high-performing, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Engage with local communities, government, and regulatory bodies.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies and improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure financial discipline through effective budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.

Prerequisites for Your Success In this Role

  • A degree in Engineering (Mining, Chemical, Mechanical, etc.) or Geology.
  • 15+ years of mining or heavy industry experience, including senior leadership roles.
  • Proven ability to lead complex operations and large teams.
  • Deep knowledge of the mining value chain, ESG standards, and risk management.
  • Strong commercial acumen and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Experience with change management and technology integration.

The expected salary range for this role is CA$258000 - $306375 . This range is tied to the British Columbia market for jobs performed in British Columbia. The salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, training, and/or experience.
