We are currently recruiting for the following role in our Montreal office:
Lawyer (4 to 6 years), Civil and Commercial Litigation The Role: We are seeking a highly motivated lawyer with expertise in class actions to join our growing litigation group in the Montreal office.
The successful candidate will integrate a dynamic team engaged in complex civil and commercial litigation matters, including class actions and high-profile mandates involving product liability, contractual disputes and consumer protection, as well as opportunities in other areas including international arbitrations involving investor-state disputes or commercial contract disputes.
Essential Functions
- Play a key role in representing sophisticated clients before civil courts
- Actively contribute to the strategic management of complex files by developing innovative, results-oriented legal solutions
- Work closely with accomplished colleagues in a stimulating, collaborative, and excellence-driven environment
- Be involved at every stage of the litigation, from drafting procedures to pleadings, including evidence management and negotiations
- Contribute to the proactive management of legal risks for our clients by providing practical, business-oriented legal advice
- Stay current on legal developments in areas relevant to the practice
- Participate in business development initiatives and contribute to professional content creation (articles, presentations, etc.)
Qualifications: The ideal candidate must be eligible to practice law in Québec and possess the following qualifications:
- Four (4) to six (6) years of relevant experience in private practice in commercial litigation, including experience with class actions
- An interest or background in international arbitration is an asset, though not a prerequisite
- Excellent legal writing, analytical, and pleading skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Bilingualism (French and English), both spoken and written
