About the role

Position: CAP-C Pitter Patter ECD Group Co-facilitator Hours per week:

Position: CAP-C Pitter Patter ECD Group Co-facilitator

Hours per week: Tuesdays 6hrs/week

Wage: Reflective of education and experience

Reports To: ECD Team Leader

CAP-C (Community Action Program for Children), is a Health Canada initiative that provides early childhood development and parent support programming to families of New Westminster and Burnaby. Family Circle provides service to families with children from birth to three years of age.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide outreach services to promote program and recruit participants.
  • Plan and implement lessons and play activities for children aged birth – 3 years.
  • Create a positive and supportive play/learning environment.
  • Facilitate an information group for the parents and caregivers.
  • Promote cross-cultural sharing among group members.
  • Evaluate and adapt curriculum to ensure effectiveness and relevance with program deliverables.
  • Shop and provide nutritious snacks to adults and children.
  • Maintain cleaning of the playroom, furniture and toys.
  • Utilize the Penelope Case Management Software to capture client data.
  • Contribute evaluation and reporting data collection to Team Leader.
  • Work on and off-site, and leveraging online platforms.
  • Participate in workshops and professional trainings.

Qualifications:

  • BA in a relevant field or ECE License to practice preferred.

  • Knowledge of child growth and development from birth – 6 years.

  • Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships with a diverse range of people.

  • Experience providing parent education programming and co-facilitating groups.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

  • Experience with online platforms- i.e. Zoom, Microsoft Teams.

  • Criminal Record Check required.

  • Current First Aid and Crisis Intervention certification.

  • Use of a vehicle maybe required.
