About the role
Position: Director of Finance
Location: Toronto (Full-Time, In-Office Only)
Compensation: ~$150,000 base + performance bonus
Industry: Investment Management / Advisory
Our client, a well-established Toronto-based investment management and advisory firm, is seeking a Director of Finance to lead the financial function across both corporate and fund-level entities. This is a full-time, in-office role ideal for a CPA with strong fund reporting experience and a hands-on approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Full-cycle financial reporting, including audited and management statements
- Oversight of bookkeeping, tax filings, and expense management
- Cash flow forecasting, payables/receivables, and banking relationships
- Regulatory compliance across real estate brokerage and investment entities
- Operational finance support (insurance, payroll, benefits, IT vendors)
- Preparation of investor and shareholder reports and presentations
- Administration of shareholder agreements and legal governance
- Support strategic initiatives and identify process improvements
Requirements:
- CPA designation required
- Experience in fund reporting (private equity, asset management, etc.)
- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable in a lean, fast-paced environment
