Overview:

Keep all equipment in good repair with a minimum of downtime by providing day-to-day maintenance. Complete maintenance work orders for all departments on a timely basis. Continually work towards and support the improvement of all service to patients, other departments and fellow staffs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Understand basic electrical, plumbing, refrigeration
  • Check and follow proactive maintenance Calendar and update as completed.
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work assignments.
  • Preform maintenance activities in the patient and common room like plunging toilets, unclogging drains, repairing all types of hardware, electrical equipment including lamps, air conditioners.
  • To be available for any emergencies and act in a capacity to protect patients, associates and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency.
  • To monitor fire Alarm / Safety systems as necessary, to be fully informed of the system operation and to handle emergencies involving the systems.
  • Carry out specific oral and written instructions.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requesting parts and supplies as needed.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional at all times, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets.
  • Maintain the facility and related equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Train and instruct other members of the staff through sharing of knowledge and skills.
  • Any other duties as required.

Landscaping Duties:

  • Maintain the facility’s outdoor spaces, including mowing lawns, trimming bushes, weeding flower beds, and caring for trees and plants.
  • Perform seasonal tasks such as leaf removal and ensuring proper drainage in landscaped areas.
  • Ensure proper irrigation systems are functioning and monitor watering schedules to keep plants healthy.
  • Assist with planting, mulching, and maintaining outdoor aesthetics to enhance the appearance of the facility.
  • Maintain landscaping tools and equipment, including lawnmowers, trimmers, and irrigation systems, ensuring they are always in good working condition

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED Completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and Facilities Maintenance Coordination experience;
  • An AA degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance a plus;
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in the operation and maintenance of buildings
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities
  • Ability to maintain organization of maintenance schedule and files in a changing environment
  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, flexibility, and leadership
  • Building trades certificate or equivalent desirable
  • Knowledge of local, provincial, and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances, and legislation
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Possess a valid driver's license
  • Excellent time management and project management skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Strong attention to detail
