Position Details
The University of Lethbridge is seeking a talented and experienced individual to join our Financial Services team. This is a full-time continuing position.
Reporting to the Associate Vice-President (Finance), the incumbent will provide strategic financial advice and operational leadership to support the financial activities of the School of Graduate Studies (SGS), and will provide budget management support to other budget units as assigned.
Responsibilities will include:
- Development and oversight of operating, one-time, and special purpose budgets, and related staffing plans and position control
- Development, oversight, and reporting on the SGS graduate funding budgets. Supporting Faculties and Schools in their management of their graduate funds. This will include advising on and implementing best practice in their management of graduate funds
- Oversight, analysis, and reporting of financial operations
- Development of budgets for new graduate program proposals, in collaboration with other Faculties and Schools
- Oversight and coordination of SGS fee changes and reporting
- Developing and providing assessments (metrics, reports) to help with budget need assessments, particularly relating to graduate students and programs
- Support and cross training with other Financial Officers in the ULethbridge network
- Support and cross training with other SGS staff
The office for this position will be located within the School of Graduate Studies, and the incumbent will have a “dotted-line” reporting relationship with the Dean of Graduate Studies and Postdoctoral Affairs.
The successful candidate will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check.
Position Qualifications
Qualified applicants will possess a bachelor’s degree, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, and a minimum of five years’ experience. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience with enterprise information systems and MS Office, including a strong working knowledge of Word and Excel. Experience working in a post-secondary institution and experience with financial planning and budget implementation will be assets.
The candidate must have strong written and verbal communication skills, especially in presentation of financial information, and excellent technical, analytical, and reporting skills.
Starting Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$75,303.80 - $94,731.95 annually
Full Salary Range (at 1.0 FTE)
$75,303.80 - $114,160.09 annually (APO - Grade 4)
