About the role

Under the direction of the Senior Specialist, Industrial Hygiene & Toxicology, the Intern collaborates with the Industrial Hygiene & Toxicology Specialists and the Engineering Department, measures worker exposure levels, evaluates and implements measures (Engineering Controls) for containing dusts at the source, in order to mitigate the risks of exposure and cross-contamination. The intern will spend a significant time following activities including observing and/or conducting air monitoring within the functional areas where products are manipulated. He/she will require bringing air monitoring equipment and wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

The intern must be able to drive to different PMS sites, while based at one main site (Royalmount). The role requires spending significant time within the areas where products are manipulated, including the manufacturing and packaging GMP facilities, and formulation and analytical laboratories, at RMT and at Candiac.

Responsabilities & Duties Support Industrial Hygiene & Toxicology initiatives

  • Conduct air monitoring for the presence of different active pharmaceutical ingredients
  • Execute containment performance verification protocols according to ISPE methodology
  • Evaluate and help implement measures (Engineering Controls) for containment of dusts at the source during different operations and pharmaceutical processes to mitigate the risks of exposure and of cross contamination

Technical document preparation

  • Air Monitoring and containment performance reports
  • Safety Measures documents for internal handling
  • Safety Data Sheets (SDS)
