The Sales and Service Safety Association (S2SA) is currently looking for an experienced Senior Safety Advisor to join our team.
S2SA provides quality resources and support to Manitoba businesses seeking to enhance their health and safety. If you are looking to join a leading health and safety association in a key role, this is your opportunity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Work Certification and Safety Program Development: Work with members to bring them up to SAFE Work Certification standards or improve their safety program by responding to safety-related questions and providing advice and recommendations, conduct gap analyses and SAFE Work Certification audits, develop industry-specific resources to assist our members in building their safety management systems, conduct quality assurance on audit submissions. Senior Safety Advisors are responsible for assisting members with more complex requirements and needs.
- Training: Facilitate, as required, industry related safety training sessions and workshops in the motor and vehicle sales and service industries from the perspective of adult learning.
- Administration and Member Engagement: Ensure customer inquiries are addressed efficiently, effectively and accurately, record accurate and timely member information in the member CRM, increase awareness of S2SA programs and services through verbal, written and electronic communication, both individually and as a team.
- Coaching and Advising: Senior Safety Advisors actively work to support the team’s Safety Advisors, Associate Safety Advisors and Students. This includes answering questions, providing opportunities for shadowing and promoting development.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education (degree, diploma or certificate) in occupational health and safety (required).
- Other Safety designation (or currently in-progress) required:
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP)
- Certified Health and Safety Consultant (CHSC)
- Canadian Risk Management (CRM)
- Industry specific Occupational Health and Safety program training
- 6+ years of leadership experience and/or coordination of occupational health and safety programs. Knowledge of the basic functioning of WCB and WSH.
- Superior customer service and engagement ability with exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and foster a respectful team environment.
- You are highly collaborative, enjoy working with a team and providing input.
- Having a ‘no job is too small’ attitude and outlook.
- Must have the minimum of a valid Class 5 vehicle driver’s license, a reliable vehicle and be available to travel. May involve some travel – day trips with some overnight throughout the year.
- You are highly organized, and detail focused; are able manage time appropriately and meet deadlines.
- You have the ability to thrive and multitask in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, adjusting strategies to meet changing requirements.
