Kaigo Senior Living consists of eight retirement communities nestled in beautiful settings and quiet neighbourhoods throughout the interior and lower mainland of British Columbia. All are fully accredited, professionally managed and well maintained. From its name “KAIGO” a Japanese word meaning caring to the highest standard, to its mission, vision and values, Kaigo has clearly established a foundation for developing a “partnership in caring”. Mission Creek Landing has been a part of the East Kelowna community for over 45 years. It is nestled in a residential park like setting and is adjacent to the scenic Mission Creek Regional Park. Mission Creek Landing provides a safe home for seniors who can no longer live independently, whether due to physical or cognitive issues.

We have recently opened our new Mission Creek Landing building on the same property! This new, state of the art, modern facility will be residence to 130 seniors, and we are looking for a dedicated, professional Clinical Coordinator to support the management team.

We are looking for friendly, dedicated support staff who are passionate about caring for our senior residents. The ideal candidate will cross train in the Dietary and Housekeeping departments.

What You Will Do

  • Provide housekeeping services in Resident suites and common areas in accordance with established work routines
  • Empty and dispose of trash and recyclables, restock paper products and supplies, and cleaning and sanitizing tactile surfaces, demonstrating safe and proper use of cleaning chemical solutions
  • Demonstrate safe and proper use of cleaning chemical solutions
  • Complete turnover cleans of Resident suites
  • Assist with kitchen duties including food prep, clean-up and washing dishes and pans
  • Deliver and distribute prepared meals and snacks to the designated dining rooms or lounges and collecting used dishes
  • Restocking the dining rooms with equipment and supplies

Your Qualifications – The Must Have’s

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Patience, kindness, compassion towards Residents
  • Ability to organize work and complete tasks within the allocated timeframes
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position, including lifting, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing
  • Must provide a criminal record check for the vulnerable sector and proof of COVID vaccinations (2 minimum)
  • FOODSAFE Level I certification
  • Previous experience in healthcare environment, or working with seniors, is an asset
