We’re seeking a motivated Outside Sales Representative to join our team and grow our business by building strong partnerships with corporate clients, travel planners, and event organizers.

The Best Western Voyageur Place Hotel is a highly rated, full-service hotel located in the heart of Newmarket, Ontario. With a commitment to excellence in service and guest satisfaction, we pride ourselves on being a preferred choice for both business and leisure travelers. We’re now looking to grow our business by adding a results-driven Outside Sales Representative to our team. Responsibilities will include:

  • · Prospect and secure new corporate, group, and extended-stay business for the hotel
  • · Utilizing an arsenal of effective sales and marketing strategies including sales calls, segmented marketing, meetings, site tours, prospecting, and networking
  • · Conducting research and studying marketplace in order to effectively capitalize on the hotel’s strengths and competitor’s weaknesses
  • · Participating in the conception and execution of marketing initiatives, including Internet and email marketing, promotions, events, packaging and partnerships
  • · Collaborate with the General Manager and marketing team to develop strategic sales plans
  • · Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets
  • · Stay informed on market trends, competitor offerings, and regional business developments

What you need:

  • · 5 years hospitality sales experience preferably someone with experience in hotel sales or hospitality. This ensures they understand ADR, RevPAR, booking patterns, group business, etc.
  • · Understanding the overall market dynamics – competitors’ economic trends, supply and demand, and how to sell for assigned accounts
  • · Local Market Knowledge: Familiarity with the local/regional corporate, travel, and event landscape.
  • · Persuasive Communication: Ability to present the hotel’s features and benefits in a compelling way.
  • · Relationship Builder: Can foster long-term relationships with clients and accounts.
  • · Self-Starter, with time management and follow through, can work independently, plan their day, and generate leads without constant supervision. Manage territory, appointments, follow-ups, and reporting effectively.
  • · Positive attitude and superior English written and verbal communication skills
  • · Negotiation Skills: Skilled in securing bookings while protecting your rate integrity.
  • · Knowledge of and comfortable with email, calendars, video calls, digital brochures, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • · Visual Matrix experience would be an asset
  • · Must maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor
  • · Must have a current driver’s license and use of a vehicle which is insured and maintained in good condition.
  • · Bachelor’s Degree and/or Hotel Management Degree or Diploma preferred
