Role description: Arcadis is seeking a talented Project Manager, Transportation Engineering for our dynamic Toronto West office. We are looking for a team lead with a background in road and transit projects in Ontario. Experience in some or all of Environmental Assessments, preliminary design, transportation planning, traffic management, and traffic engineering would be an asset.

This role will entail the utilization of skills in leadership, business development and client interaction. As a Project Manager you will be asked to assist in growing and maintaining the business. Role accountabilities: In this role you will be Project Manager or Deputy Project Manager on transportation-infrastructure projects such as Class Environmental Assessments, TPAP, preliminary designs, intersection, or corridor improvement studies. You will be responsible for transportation Engineering task lead for large-scale projects and review of preliminary and detailed design drawings, reviewing and supporting report-writing (e.g. Environmental Study Report, traffic studies), proposal writing. You will manage staff productivity and utilization, mentor staff and project teams, and supervise staff and participate directly in the completion of projects. You will be expected to foster a spirit of enthusiasm and client focus, lead and direct business development activities in the GTHA, and oversee project coordination between other design disciplines, management of project schedule and budget. You will liaise with clients and also participate in the management of the Infrastructure Group in Toronto West Office. This individual will have the ability to work independently as well as in groups with a demonstrated ability to manage projects, project teams, and clients. Have excellent technical verbal and written communication skills, and be highly motivated and enthusiastic with a strong desire to succeed. You will also have excellent analytical and decision-making skills, with commitment to excellence and high quality work and a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s University Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university
  • 5+ years of Project Management experience as well as 8+ years of Transportation Engineering
  • Roadway preliminary or detailed design experience
  • P.Eng. (Eligible for Membership with PEO) preferred
  • Experience with MTO, Region of Peel, York Region, and Halton Region are an asset
  • Experience with preliminary and detailed design of arterial roads, highways and freeways (alignments, geometrics, staging, traffic management, roadside safety)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, MicroStation, InRoads and Civil3D an asset
  • Understanding of traffic engineering principles
  • Familiarity with GTHA market conditions, public and private sector client base in and around the GTHA
  • Familiar with construction inspection and preparation of reports

The salary range for this position is $89,600 - $134,00. The base salary represents Arcadis’ hiring range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as location, skills, experience, and qualification for the role.
