Senior Officer, Asset Information Management

The Design and Construction Branch is looking for a Senior Officer, Asset Information Management, for a three-year term position, with the possibility of extension and/or conversion to an indeterminate appointment.

JOB OVERVIEW
As a Senior Officer, Asset Information Management, you oversee the information, systems, and processes related to assets owned or managed by the National Capital Commission. You conduct analyses, provide end-user training, perform testing, and ensure quality control to establish a solid foundation for business decisions.

You act as the key liaison between branches involved in asset management, ensuring that requirements comply with Treasury Board standards and policies. You work closely with internal and external stakeholders during the upgrading and replacement of corporate system applications, and you play a leadership role in the implementation and change management of these systems at the corporate level.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with an acceptable specialization in Information Technology or an acceptable combination of education, training and/or experience.

EXPERIENCE

  • Three to five years of experience in asset and information management.

KNOWLEDGE

  1. Knowledge of IT, information management, lifecycle management, and asset planning to identify and resolve quality and redundancy issues.
  2. Knowledge of business processes to act as the main contact between users and IT for requirements gathering and process development.
  3. Knowledge of adult learning principles to develop and deliver effective training sessions.
  4. Knowledge of real property management and the real estate industry for asset tracking and business processes.

ABILITIES

  1. Ability to generate, develop, and produce analytical reports for inventory, compliance, and audit purposes, as well as document user requirements and improve business processes.
  2. Ability to identify and resolve system issues that impact the tracking of complex and high value assets and recommend new or updated procedures to mitigate risks.
  3. Ability to communicate effectively to provide user support, deliver training sessions, and explain technical information to stakeholders.
  4. Ability to document projects, produce technical and status reports, and clarify business and stakeholder requirements.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

  • Possess or eligible to obtain Reliability security clearance.
  • Linguistic profile: Bilingual BBB.
  • Position is in the National Capital Region. The person selected for this position must reside within a commutable distance from the workplace at 40 Elgin Street, Ottawa, Ontario.
