Minimum 2 years as a Landscape Construction Foreman on residential properties

Must be legally allowed to work in Canada and presently reside in the Greater Vancouver area.

We mostly work on the North Shore and Vancouver.

The Landscape Construction Foreman is responsible for overseeing all on-site aspects of landscape construction projects.

Job Duties:

• Manage landscape projects, planning labour requirements, equipment requirements and material deliveries and timing to ensure completion of jobs within project deadlines
• Manage safety, quality and productivity of work at job sites
• Assist in the preparation of job sites prior to the beginning of a project
• Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the day to day work activities of a landscape construction crew of 1 to 5 employees
• Delegate job tasks to appropriate crew members to assist in the completion of landscape constructions
• Conduct on-site orientations with new hires and employees moving into new positions
• Operate various tools and equipment, including: heavy equipment, hand tools and power tools typically associated with landscape construction
• Assist in the construction of landscapes including driveways, walkways, patios, fences, decks, basic masonry, basic carpentry, water features, plantings and other aspects of landscape construction as required
• Oversee and monitor preventative maintenance on all tools and equipment
• Read and interpret blueprints, structural drawings, and specifications to delegate/complete work activities
• Meet with subcontractors and supervise quality, efficiency, and deadlines
• Complete and submit all required paperwork on a daily basis
• Direct, oversee and participate in work performed by your team. This is a very hands-on position and requires this person to perform any task they would ask their team to do. You will be expected to work alongside them
• Ongoing employee training
• Have a ‘customer first’ approach. Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner, providing exemplary customer service
• Remain onsite unless otherwise directed

Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the landscape/construction industry
• Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
• Effective communication skills (both verbal and written)
• Ability to work under pressure with light deadlines
• Time management skills
• Must have a valid driver’s licence
• Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape/construction practices
• Speak, read, and write English
• Carry and use a smart phone or data-enabled device for communication and reporting

Work Conditions:

• Working with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, heavy equipment, and materials
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. repeatedly throughout an entire work shift
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Excellent stamina
• Working near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
• Working outdoors in various conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold weather

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $40.00 per hour
