Hiring Unit:
Department of Chemistry
Position Summary:
- Assist a PhD3 student on numerous oligotherapeutic projects that study the performance of antisense oligonucleotides and small interfering-RNA in a variety of therapeutic and mechanistic contexts.
- Perform solid-phase organic synthesis of nucleic acid therapeutic molecules.
- Perform purification, desalting, and processing of synthesized molecules.
- Testing synthesized molecules in cell models.
- Thermal studies of synthesized molecules.
- Data analysis.
Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities:
- Work well within a research team.
- Communicate effectively both in planning experiments and reporting results.
- Have Chemistry laboratory skills from Chemistry classes.
Experience and education:
- Experience with solid phase organic synthesis, HPLC, and UV-Vis denaturation studies.
- Currently enrolled as a student in the Faculty of Science.
