About the role

Shipper/Receiver – Join the SKEANS Team!

Surrey, BC | Full-Time | SKEANS Pneumatic and Automation Inc*.*

Looking for a hands-on role in a fast-paced, growing industrial environment?
SKEANS is seeking a Shipper/Receiver to join our warehouse operations team. This role is perfect for someone who is curious to learn, collaborative by nature, and committed to doing things right.

We’re looking for someone who is organized, adaptable, and committed to keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes — while supporting our customers and internal teams with accuracy, pride, and care. You’ll play a key role in helping us deliver the best possible service to our customers while keeping our warehouse organized, safe, and efficient.

About SKEANS:

Skeans Pneumatic and Automation Inc. is one of Western Canada's leading Pneumatic & Electrical Automation and Compressor Room Systems distributors, with seven full-service locations in British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba.

For over 55 years, our family owned, and managed company has provided automation and compressed air solutions to a diversified industry base across Western Canada. By establishing strong partnerships, we connect automation with customer driven innovation, adding value and finding innovative solutions to some of the most important manufacturing issues facing businesses. From generation to actuation, our rotating equipment, pneumatic and electric automation solutions help our customers improve productivity and profitability and create a safer work environment.

Whether our clients need a compressed air energy audit, special pneumatic cylinder designs, electric actuation, robotics, optical sensors, or machine safety systems, we have the right solution!

What You’ll Do – Warehouse Operations

Working from our warehouse, your primary responsibilities will include:

· Pulling customer orders from inventory

· Packing and shipping orders accurately and on time for delivery

· Operate forklifts and reach trucks safely to move materials within the warehouse

· Dispatching couriers and managing shipment schedules

· Stocking shelves and maintaining inventory accuracy

· Utilize warehouse management systems (CRM/ERP) to track inventory levels and order status

· Contributing to a clean, safe, and organized warehouse (sweeping, garbage/recycling, light maintenance inside and out)

· Supporting an efficient, well-maintained distribution warehouse that helps deliver on our customer commitments

Your commitment to quality and organization helps ensure we meet our goal: a well-run warehouse that supports timely and efficient product delivery. At SKEANS, we handle everything from parts the size of a fingernail to full truckload systems — adaptability is key!

Where You’ll Collaborate – Cross-Functional Support

Beyond the warehouse, this role includes opportunities to support the broader SKEANS team by:

· Assist with inventory counts and audits as required

· Building and repairing customer components (BOMs)

· Assisting walk-in customers, as required

· Providing flexible support to our sales and customer service teams

What We’re Looking For

Experience counts, but the most important thing is your attitude:

· Genuinely curious – eager to learn new products, systems, and processes

· You are reliable, adaptable, and take ownership of your work

· You're physically capable: lifting up to 50 lbs, standing/moving, and working safely

· You're comfortable working both independently and as part of a team

· You bring good hearing, vision, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination

· You have a strong sense of organization and attention to detail

· You’re confident with basic math and have a mechanical mindset

· Familiarity with warehouse management systems (e.g., SAP software) is an asset

· Ability to operate forklifts and reach trucks safely; certification preferred

· Ability to use bandsaw, nail gun, general tools to build skids, crates, etc.

Warehouse or shipping/receiving experience is an asset, but we’ll train the right person with the right energy.

Why Join SKEANS?

· Competitive compensation and benefits, including Comprehensive group insurance, Extended group health and dental benefits, Healthcare and Wellness Spending Accounts, Group Financial Savings & Employer Matching Program, Comprehensive internal and external training programs, Continuing Education financial support

· A stable, Monday to Friday schedule

· Opportunities to grow and learn new skills in a collaborative environment

· A respected, long-standing company committed to innovation, teamwork, and customer success

This is more than a warehouse job – it’s an opportunity to build a career in industrial distribution with a company that values your contribution.
