Ontario Health is seeking a strategic and experienced Senior Advisor, Communications to join our Corporate Communications team. In this role, you’ll lead the development and execution of communications strategies that support high-impact initiatives across the organization and the broader health care system.

This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about making a difference in Ontario’s health care landscape.

Here Is What You Will Be Doing

  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement communications strategies for large-scale programs and high-priority initiatives.
  • Advisory Support: Provide expert communications counsel to senior leaders and project teams across Ontario Health.
  • Content Development: Create compelling materials including communication plans, key messages, briefing notes, reports, and presentations.
  • Evaluation & Reporting: Monitor and assess the effectiveness of communications strategies and apply insights to future work.
  • Brand Stewardship: Protect and enhance Ontario Health’s brand through strategic messaging and innovative communications.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Project Leadership: Provides strategic communications project leadership working with cross-functional teams to achieve objectives and deliver communications initiatives.
  • Mentorship: Support and coach Communications Advisors as needed.

Education And Experience Here is what you will need to be successful:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in communications, preferably in a large or public sector organization.
  • Proven experience working on complex, deadline-driven projects with cross-functional teams.
  • Health care sector experience is an asset.

Key Competencies

  • Strong strategic thinking and storytelling abilities.
  • Expertise in developing and executing communications plans for large-scale initiatives.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • High level of discretion, sound judgment, and decision-making ability.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Office 365; familiarity with communications measurement tools and techniques.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence and build consensus across diverse teams.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
