The Sr. M&A Integration Manager will play a pivotal role ensuring the timely and accurate completion of multiple strategic initiatives occurring simultaneously with the goal of increasing the overall M&A integration effectiveness.
The Corporate Development team threads the needle with strategy between finance, technology and operations driving important initiatives that determine when we partner and our planned growth moves. Our team structure provides the opportunity for outsized impact and exposure with OpenText’s senior business, operations, and technology leaders.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
Integration Planning and Execution:
- Lead the development and execution of comprehensive integration strategies aligned with OpenText’s strategic and M&A objectives.
- Drive cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely, efficient, and seamless integration across business units.
- Prepare and deliver compelling, executive-level presentations to communicate integration plans, progress, and outcomes.
Integration Scorecard Reporting:
- Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure integration success and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide regular updates and insights to senior leadership, highlighting progress, risks, and recommended course corrections.
M&A Playbook Execution
- Support the end-to-end M&A lifecycle, including operational due diligence and integration planning.
- Manage deal transaction timelines and project plans, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and stakeholder expectations.
Risk Management and Problem-Solving:
- Proactively identify integration risks and issues, and develop mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve challenges, remove roadblocks, and ensure integration success.
Due Diligence Coordination:
- Partner closely with the Transaction team to support and manage the diligence process.
- Provide integration insights during diligence to inform deal structure, risk assessment, and post-close planning.
- Ensure a smooth handoff from deal execution to integration, maintaining continuity and alignment across teams.
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA desired.
- 5 to 7 years of experience in M&A integration with a track record of successfully managing complex integration projects from start to finish.
- Software industry experience is strongly preferred.
- Extensive program management experience leading global cross-functional teams.
- Established business and financial acumen, robust analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
- Proficient in project management tools, Smartsheet, Excel, and PowerPoint with the ability to create informative and compelling Executive level presentations.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to work out of an OPENTEXT Toronto (downtown) office 3-4 days a week
- Ability to work both very flexible hours (afterhours, weekends etc., as per project demands)
