Job Summary
The Building Maintenance position is essential for ensuring the functionality and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical and construction knowledge, demonstrating the ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently. This role requires a proactive approach to performing repairs, and supervising maintenance activities to uphold the highest standards of safety and efficiency.
Duties
- Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify maintenance needs.
- Perform repairs on mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean work environment.
- Calling in trades and suppliers for out of scope building maintenance
- Identify building issues, purchasing parts and equipment and rectifying the issue
- Minor building repairs and construction to include framing, drywall, taping and painting
- Maintain the exterior landscaping including minor snow removal, grass cutting, weeding and other landscape repairs
- Ensure the overall cleanliness and order of the shop floor and exterior
- Minor plumbing and electrical repairs as required
- When called upon, there may be some maintenance required related to installation site work such as patching and painting damage
- Assisting the plant supervisor when called upon
- Building shipping crates
Skills
- Strong construction knowledge with hands-on experience in facilities maintenance.
- Carpentry, drywall, painting, electrical and plumbing
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics and technical drawings.
- Ability to fabricate components as needed for repairs or improvements.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a logical approach to maintenance challenges.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and management effectively.
This role is crucial for maintaining operational efficiency within our facilities, ensuring that all systems are functioning optimally while providing a safe environment for all employees.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
