Wellness Coach

Join the VIBE Mental Health Capacity Building Program, a school-based initiative focused on prevention, promotion, and early intervention.

POSITION SUMMARY

As part of the Alberta Mental Health Capacity Building (MHCB) Initiative, the Wellness Coach works with school staff, students, families, and community agencies to deliver mental health promotion and prevention programming. The Coach supports school-wide wellness, builds student resiliency, and provides programming aligned with mental health literacy and early intervention strategies.

This role requires strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Child and Youth Care, Human Services, or a related field.
  • Experience working with children, youth, and families in school or community-based settings.
  • Knowledge of mental health promotion, child and youth development, and trauma-informed practice.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with school staff and external agencies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Competency with basic computer applications and digital tools. A valid driver's license, reliable vehicle, and appropriate insurance are required.
  • Current and clear RCMP Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Search and a Child Intervention Record Check are mandatory at time of interview

POSITION DETAILS

  • Location: Based in Vermilion, Alberta
  • Start Date: As soon as possible upon successful recruitment
  • Schedule: Full-time, 12-month position (Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours/week)
  • Compensation: Includes salary, benefits, and pension. Remuneration is commensurate with education and experience.
