The Summer Mountain Ambassador is in a highly visible, guest-facing role, and is responsible for showcasing the highlights of the resort to guests and partners. Your role will be to deliver outstanding brand representation in an energetic and professional manner. This position also serves as the face of the General & Executive Offices while assisting with groups and events at the Resort. Reporting to the Reception & Group Services Supervisor, and collaborating with all departments, this role also supports the VP Sales & Marketing, and under the guidance of other senior personnel in Sales and Marketing.

Job Functions

Brand Ambassador

  • Interact with guests, staff and the public with enthusiasm and authenticity.
  • Keep up to date on all Sunshine Village and industry news.
  • Adhere to and communicate company initiatives, policies, and procedures.
  • Collect and organize information and requirements for potential and upcoming initiatives, ensuring critical path components are maintained.

Reception

  • Manage and oversee all processes, correspondence, and appointments at the Reception desk.
  • Handle the issuance and tracking of Contra, Contractor, and Complimentary Tickets.
  • Perform a broad range of administrative duties, answering calls, transcribing voicemails, responding to emails, and maintaining various logs, statistics, reports.
  • Supports and collaborate with the Group Coordinator by preparing tickets, vouchers, and facilitate the "meet and greet" process, reviewing itineraries and serving as a knowledgeable Resort guide.

Administrative Functions

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of meetings, schedules, reports, incident reporting, and health and safety hazard assessments.
  • Complete end-of-day system procedures, including nightly processing.

Other duties may be requested and assigned periodically.

Experience/Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in business is preferred, relevant experience will be considered.
  • Positive, mature, and professional attitude.
  • Outgoing, energetic, social, and creative personality.
  • Must be organized, take initiative, and be able to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Prepared to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours.
  • Maintain composure under pressure, demonstrate patience and effective time management.
  • Proficient communication skills in English, written and verbal.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Uphold professionalism while representing the company on and off duty.
  • Effectively provide support and assistance to coworkers and a variety of guests, including children.
  • Attend and actively participate in meetings and training inside and outside of the department.
  • Must be neat, alert, punctual and dependable.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Teams, SharePoint) an asset.
  • Must always maintain professional conduct when in uniform, and when acting as a company representative.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
  • Prepared to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Additional Considerations

  • Employees must always be of sound mind, exhibit good judgment, and report to work fit for duty.
  • Some uniform pieces are provided. A business casual approach under the Grooming Policy is required. Employee must be prepared and wear appropriate footwear, layers, etc. for the conditions.
  • Given the handling of sensitive information, this role must adhere to high standards of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Valid AB driver’s license and a clean driving record. Travel to Banff will be required.
