About the role

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga . We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops and implements the program’s estimate breakdown structure, establishing appropriate measurement methods.
  • Reviews and evaluates contractor cost estimates, including those for Target Price submissions and Change Requests, providing constructive feedback.
  • Advises Program Leads, Program Controls, and Commercial Leads on cost estimating best practices and methodologies.
  • Conducts bottom-up estimates as needed to validate contractor estimates as part of the assurance process.
  • Maintains a comprehensive database of rates and benchmark data for the program.
  • Works closely with PMO Services to report and integrate estimating data, supporting program-wide estimating initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:

  • University Degree in quantity surveying, cost and commercial management, project management, or another relevant field + 4 years of experience in quantity surveying / estimating on large infrastructure programs.

Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Possession of a recognized designation, such as Cost Control Professional (CCP), Professional Quantity Surveyor (PQS), Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), or equivalent, is an asset.
  • 10 years of experience in quantity surveying/estimating for large infrastructure programs.
  • Experience with aviation programs is considered an asset.
  • Proficient in MS Office and other cost management software tools and applications for documenting and illustrating cost performance.
  • Experience in cost reporting and integrating cost information across the program to produce consolidated, program-level cost estimates.
  • Broad understanding of program controls and the interconnected relationship between cost, schedule, risk, and scope.

Additional Information

This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
