The Home Renovation Program Supervisor will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the PEI Home Renovation Programs, Seniors Home Repair Program, and the Seniors Safe @ Home Program (otherwise known as PEI Home Renovation Programs).

This position provides effective leadership and supervision to the PEI Home Renovation Programs. This will include assisting with operational planning and using trend analysis with a view to future program needs. This position is also responsible for ensuring that processes and procedures for the PEI Home Renovation Programs are running efficiently while being as effective as possible while being adhered to by all staff.

The Home Renovation Program Supervisor interprets program policies as required while ensuring consistent application of policy and is also responsible for overseeing and supervising any policies, processes and procedures being developed.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership, advice, direction and supervision to all staff of the PEI Home Renovation Programs, including Program Officers, Building Technicians and Administrative Support;
  • Promote and foster quality improvement culture for all programs and staff to ensure programs remain current and relevant, and processes are efficient and effective, as well as client centred;
  • Promote and ensure that staff practice a strong focus on meeting applicants’ housing needs;
  • Coordinate, monitor and evaluate the status of applications for all programs;
  • Conduct information sessions as required to various stakeholders, most notably the public;
  • Oversee and ensure that all applications are processed in a timely manner and assessed to determine if request meets established program criteria for the PEI Home Renovation Programs;
  • Respond to inquiries regarding the PEI Home Renovation Programs;
  • Incorporating research and best practice literature in the monitoring and improvement of quality program service delivery and standards, as well as consistent application of program policy and applicable legislation in relation to the programs;
  • Provide divisional coordination to ensure administrative and financial processes are in place to support Home Renovation Program staff in delivering efficient, effective, and streamlined programs to clients;
  • Provides leadership and management of budgets and data analysis for Home Renovation Programs, Seniors Safe @ Home Program and Seniors Home Repair Program;
  • Responsible for ensuring processes are clear, transparent, and accountable within government policies and program criteria and provide appropriate controls over public resources;
  • Identify, determine and ensure the provision of appropriate recruitment, orientation, supervision and training and development programs for staff and student placements;

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related discipline, supplemented by training in research methods, program evaluation;
  • Demonstrated equivalencies will be considered;
  • Supervisory Experience;
  • Must have considerable experience in program delivery;
  • Experience in budget management and forecasting;
  • Experience in Policy Development;
  • Experience working with building tradesmen and building trade contractors;
  • Experience in cost estimating;
  • Highly developed skills and knowledge in the following areas: Program design and development, performance monitoring and reporting, policy development, program evaluation, policy and program research and group facilitation;
  • Knowledge of Provincial Housing Programs;
  • Basic knowledge of building codes;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal, organizational, time management, problem solving, conflict resolution, leadership and team building skills);
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word and Excel;
  • Knowledge of trend analysis;
  • Ability to carry out complex analysis;
  • Ability to organize, plan and think strategically;
  • High level of analytical and research capability;
  • Good previous work and attendance record and acceptable criminal and vulnerable sector checks;

Other Qualifications:

  • Experience in the building construction and/or building maintenance industry and/or in building administration and supervision is considered an asset.
