Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team full time in our office in Sechelt. This role will report directly to our controller and part-time CFO. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day accounts payable/payments cycle, revenue and accounts receivable, key performance indicators (KPIs), month-end financial close, payroll, sales tax, and payroll tax processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the day-to-day accounts payable and payments cycle.
  • Handle revenue and accounts receivable functions, ensuring timely invoicing and collections. Oversee monthly contract calculations and billings.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Update monthly dashboard and reports in KPI software.
  • Manage the month-end and year-end financial close process, including preparation off financial statements.
  • Administer payroll and ensure compliance with all payroll-related regulations.
  • Prepare and file sales tax and payroll tax returns.
  • Oversee employee benefits with bookkeeper.
  • Assist the controller and CFO with financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and financial policies
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bookkeeping designation or CPA designation preferred; however, candidates with significant relevant experience will also be considered.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a bookkeeping role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, teams and particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary range of $40,000 - $45,000, depending on experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $52,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 35-40 per week
