Position Details

The Faculty of Health Sciences invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Instructor position in the Addictions & Mental Health Counselling Program for a two-year term. The successful candidate will facilitate counselling skills training labs, teach in the undergraduate program, and may act as a faculty liaison for student internship experiences. The position will commence August 1, 2025.

Qualifications

A completed Master’s degree in Counselling, Social Work, or a related field is preferred for this role. Additionally, the applicant should have a professional practice background in the field of addictions and mental health and active registration with a regulatory body. It’s essential for the applicant to have excellent professional judgment and boundaries, as this role may involve working with students and agencies in practicum settings. Practical interpersonal and communication skills are also crucial; teaching experience at the post-secondary level is an asset.

The Faculty of Health Sciences currently offers undergraduate and graduate education. Undergraduate programs include Aboriginal Health, Addictions Counselling, Nursing, Public Health and Therapeutic Recreation.
