About the role

This role will play a crucial part in ensuring the financial integrity of the organization, supporting strategic decision-making, having ownership over a global P&L and advising senior level stakeholders. As a strategic finance professional, the individual drives insightful analysis of key performance indicators to assess business value creation and strategic alignment across their most crucial business unit. By translating complex financial data into actionable insights, they will connect operational drivers to strategic priorities, optimizing profitability and supporting long-term growth.

The right candidate will have experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization and ideally will have experience in the implementation of new technologies and advanced ways of working.

Your main responsibilities:

  • Deliver Strategic Financial Insights: Lead the analysis of key performance metrics (e.g., Sales, Gross Margin, ROS, ROCE) to evaluate business value creation and ensure alignment with strategic goals.
  • Facilitate Informed Decision-Making: Collaborate with Commercial Teams to review historical results and build integrated, forward-looking forecasts using cross-functional input.
  • Connect Financials to Strategy: Transform financial data into clear, actionable insights by linking performance drivers to strategic initiatives aimed at maximizing profitability and growth.
  • Promote Financial and Process Excellence: Maintain adherence to corporate financial standards, internal controls, and compliance requirements, while driving process consistency and operational efficiency across entities and shared services.
  • Lead Cross-Functional Coordination: Serve as a central point of contact between regional controllers, shared services, and commercial teams to ensure aligned planning, resource allocation, and execution.

Requirements:

  • Language Skills: Advanced proficiency in English with at least intermediate proficiency in French.
  • Education: Master’s degree or equivalent qualification strongly preferred.
  • Experience Level: Seeking candidates with 5–12 years of progressive success in corporate finance roles.
  • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated ability to lead dotted lines across a variety of departments.
  • Strategic and Analytical Skills: Strong capabilities in strategic planning, business acumen, and critical thinking.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written, verbal, and executive-level presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and persuasively.
  • Global Exposure: Experience working in multinational or complex global environments is highly desirable.
  • Mobility: Openness to completing at least one international assignment outside of Canada.
