Parkland County has a casual Shelter Keeper I position available with the Enforcement Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Court Liaison & Shelter Operations this position is responsible for regular maintenance of the shelter and general care of impounded animals. The Shelter Keeper I will document animal behaviour, assist in the impounding, release and transport of animals, and provide support for administrative duties as required.
The ideal candidate would have the following:
- Completion of high school diploma or equivalent. Education in animal health, behaviour and/or care would be an asset.
- Minimum one year of experience in animal health or behavior.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Proven ability to work independently.
- Possession of a valid Class 5 driver’s license and satisfactory driver’s abstract.
The total rewards package for this position includes:
An hourly rate of pay of $26.56 (shift work as required, including weekends).
