Brief Summary:
From fuel costs to freight margins, the numbers tell the story of our business. As the Senior Financial Analyst – Team Lead , you will play a pivotal role in driving financial planning and analysis to support strategic business decisions. Reporting to the Manager, FP&A, you will lead the development of financial models, forecasts, and performance metrics while mentoring junior analysts and enhancing financial processes. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, leadership capabilities, and a passion for turning complex data into actionable insights that influence company direction.
About the Role / Key Accountabilities:
- Ability to lead a small finance team while managing and delivering complex financial projects
- Performs financial forecasting and budgeting to support business planning and decision-making processes.
- Develop financial models, forecasts and budgets costing models/ scenario analysis models to analyze product profitability using data and financial analysis tools.
- Develop and refine financial models to evaluate overall business performance and support strategic initiatives.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to senior leadership.
- Compile, analyze and distribute summary information relating to KPI’s & other metrics.
- Coordinate the implementation of processes that facilitate more efficient month-end reviews.
- Assist in the implementation and development of new systems and processes.
- Mentor junior financial analysts by providing guidance and oversight on complex tasks.
- Participate in the orientation and training process for the financial team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
- 5+ years of progressive experience in financial analysis, with at least 1–2 years in a leadership or mentorship role.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field; CPA, CFA, or MBA is required.
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft suite software and Windows operating systems
- Familiarity with data visualization software (Power BI, Tableau)
