Job Summary
Fries Tallman Lumber, located in Regina and Fort Qu’Appelle, is one of the oldest independently owned retail lumberyards in Saskatchewan. The Vision of Fries Tallman Lumber is to provide exceptional service and products to our communities.
Fries Tallman Lumber is seeking a professional, highly motivated and service orientated Branch Manager to assume responsibilities for our Fort Qu’Appelle operations. On a daily basis, the Branch Manager must conduct themselves with high energy and a clear focus on growing the business and mentoring staff.
Reporting to the General Manager, the Branch Manager responsibilities will include: Working in conjunction with the Sales Manager to lead in sales production and margin targets for the branch. Development of marketing strategies for Fort Qu’Appelle area.
Priorities also include but not limited to: Customer service, providing timely customer project quotations, maintaining budgets, scheduling, supervising employees, forklift operations, loading orders, overseeing delivery of products along with responsibility for overseeing ordering, receiving, managing inventory and merchandising.
Responsibilities and Duties
Preferred Job Requirements and Competencies
- Post Secondary education preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a direct sales role in a lumber environment
- Strong business acumen with a good financial understanding
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills along with a proven track record in building rapport and maintaining relationships with clients, management, and staff
- Work cooperatively and effectively with others to foster a team environment to reach common goals
- Good analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
- Ability to grow existing accounts and develop new business to achieve sales targets
- Demonstrated ability to mentor, coach and motivate the staff team
- Ability to prioritize and effectively execute tasks in a high-pressure environment to meet deadlines
- Excellent written, oral and presentation skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Point-of-Sales software
- A valid driver’s license
Qualifications and Skills
- Post Secondary education preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in a direct sales role in a lumber environment
