The Opportunity

Keyano College’s Sport & Wellness Centre is currently seeking a Personal trainer on contract. Reporting to the Recreation Manager, this position plays a key role in fitness testing services along with program execution.

Duties & Responsibilities

The accountabilities for this role include but are not limited to:

  • Consultation paperwork, clearance forms with client.
  • Initial assessments
  • Tracking that payments were processed for the testing prior to execution.
  • Set up/tear down testing space.
  • PARE Testing
  • PFA Testing
  • RES testing, lead floor proctor.
  • Pre/Post vitals
  • Report severe/major injuries to recreation manager.
  • Clinical assessments
  • PALS courses executed
  • Billing hours , Financial tracking

Qualifications

Education and Certification
o CSEP-CPT or CSEP-CEP

o CPR and First Aid certification
o Vulnerable Criminal record check

Experience
o Previous experience working as a CESP-cpt personal trainer with testing experience.
o Experience in working with maximal testing/ assessments.
o Experience working with adults/children for programming

Skills and Competencies
o Strong knowledge of fitness testing techniques and methods.
o Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with recreation staff and clients, community.

o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o Strong organizational and time management skills.
o Proficiency in using relevant computer software and record-keeping systems.

Personal Attributes
o High level of professionalism and ethical conduct.
o Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make quick, effective decisions in emergency situations.
o The position requires ability to lift, bend and stand for extended periods of time.

Additional Requirements
o A valid driver’s license.
o Flexibility to work early mornings, evenings.

  • Hours as required, varies quarterly Aug 1, 2025 – June 30, 2026.
