Are you a regulatory powerhouse who loves rolling up your sleeves and seeing things through from zero to launch?
At Lite-1 , we’re revolutionizing the way the world experiences colours. Our proprietary dyes are replacing toxic synthetic dyes in textiles, food, and cosmetics with nature-grown alternatives. As we expand into global markets, we’re looking for a Regulatory & Compliance expert who can own the entire lifecycle of regulatory approvals , from designing toxicity studies to FDA submissions to securing certifications across multiple industries (such as textile, food, cosmetics) and jurisdictions.
🔍 What You’ll Do:
Regulatory Strategy & Execution

Design, plan, and execute regulatory roadmaps across textile, food, cosmetic, and materials sectors — with a focus on FDA , EFSA , REACH , OEKO-TEX , GOTS , ZDHC , and other relevant bodies.

Develop and maintain a comprehensive regulatory database of global standards and applicable regulations.

Translate business and R&D goals into actionable regulatory strategies for new product launches and product category expansion.

Coordinate and manage GRAS , FCN , or equivalent submissions and approvals for food-related applications.

Prepare complete regulatory dossiers, MSDS, safety sheets, and claims documentation with precision and scientific integrity.
Toxicology & Safety Testing

Design, coordinate, and oversee toxicity, biodegradability, stability , and exposure studies (acute/chronic toxicity, skin irritation, genotoxicity, etc.) across relevant product types.

Select and manage partnerships with testing laboratories, CROs, and third-party certification bodies .

Interpret test data and generate documentation to support regulatory and customer requirements.
Cross-functional Integration

Collaborate closely with R&D, biomanufacturing, and formulation teams to ensure safety and regulatory requirements are met early in the development process.

Support IP and commercialization teams by contributing technical and regulatory insights to ensure compliance and de-risked market entry.
Stakeholder & Agency Engagement

Serve as primary point of contact with regulatory agencies , standard-setting organizations, and third-party certifiers, including site visits, audits, and regular reporting.

Maintain ongoing relationships and leverage existing networks to accelerate regulatory acceptance and streamline review timelines.
🧠 You Bring – Required Qualifications & Mindset
-
5+ years of hands-on regulatory and product safety experience , ideally across both food and textile (or chemical/materials) sectors.

Proven track record of managing toxicity testing and leading FDA, EFSA, REACH, or equivalent regulatory submissions .
-
Deep knowledge of international regulatory frameworks , including the U.S., Canada, the EU, and emerging markets.
-
Strong understanding of chemistry, toxicology, or life sciences as they apply to product safety and compliance.

Experience managing or conducting studies related to biodegradability, safety assessments, contaminant thresholds, and regulatory claims validation .
-
Demonstrated ability to manage external testing labs, CROs, and third-party certifications independently and efficiently.

Outstanding communication skills — able to translate technical content into strategic regulatory recommendations and customer-ready documentation.

Hands-on, self-starting attitude — ready to operate in a fast-paced startup environment , where your work has immediate and visible impact.

Bonus: Experience with FDA colour petitions, GRAS notifications , OEKO-TEX Eco Passport , or ZDHC MRSL compliance .
