OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY / JOB PURPOSE
This is not your typical maintenance role. As our film production customers work within a complex and high-demand environment, we look for candidates who provide outstanding customer service to ensure that our customers needs are not only met but are exceeded on a daily basis. The VFS Maintenance team is responsible for delivering preventative and corrective maintenance as well as routine, and on-demand services for the film studios, grounds, and facilities.
KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Perform minor building repairs and maintenance utilizing skills such as carpentry, minor plumbing, minor electrical, painting and roofing;
-
Perform electrical maintenance such as replacement or report of fixtures, wall switches and outlets, bulbs, tubes, and fuses;
-
Troubleshoot, repair and perform preventative maintenance on equipment as required;
-
Assist with site improvements such as lockset and door hardware;
-
Respond to and manage tenant concerns;
-
Perform general janitorial duties;
-
Perform daily inspection of grounds and premises;
-
Perform outgoing cleanup and safety checks on stages;
-
Set up and operate all tools and equipment necessary to perform assigned work;
-
Request and order the necessary material to complete all the required repairs;
-
Participate in moving and/or installing furniture for office relocations or tenant set-up/dismantle;
-
Maintain good working relationships with contractors, customers and vendors;
-
Serve as a 24-hour on-call emergency for fire, flood, other weather events (snow removal) and power issues;
-
Work independently or as part of a team;
-
Communicate effectively with employees as well as our tenants;
-
Physical lifting, carrying, and pulling heavy equipment and objects;
-
Interpret building schematic drawings, sketches, instructions and specifications;
And all other duties as required by the Company from time to time.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS REQUIRED:

Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance, construction, or a related field.

Valid B.C. Driver’s license;
-
Previous experience in a supervisory role will be considered an advantage
-
Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, with the ability to respond to tenant needs and concerns in a timely, respectful, and solution-oriented manner.

Proven knowledge and safe operation of hand and power tools.
-
High level of proficiency in English (written and verbal).
-
Positive attitude;
-
Must be clean and well organized;
-
Environmentally Conscious;
-
Knowledge and experience with the safe use and operation of power hand tools;
-
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Ability to lift, carry, and pull heavy equipment or objects;
-
Boom lift and forklift experience is considered an asset, but not mandatory; training opportunities are available.

Legally permitted to work in Canada.

SCHEDULE:
The regular work schedule is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Availability for occasional overtime is required to address emergency incidents, including fire, flood, snow, and power-related issues.
COMPENSATION:
Compensation ranges from $60,000 to $65,000 annually, based on skills and experience.
