Position Summary
The Alumni Manager is responsible for developing and executing initiatives that build meaningful, long-term relationships with alumni and their families to support ongoing recovery, connection, and engagement. This role plays a key part in sustaining alumni success while contributing to program awareness and growth through structured alumni involvement and collaboration with on-site teams. The Alumni Manager is also responsible for driving revenue through the Alumni Program in the form of net-new referrals and to garner client feedback to boost brand awareness and strength.
Key Responsibilities
Alumni & Family Engagement
- Build and implement a robust alumni engagement strategy that fosters connection, community, and long-term recovery.
- Lead alumni programming including virtual and in-person events, volunteer opportunities, milestone celebrations, and regular outreach.
- Develop and maintain an alumni service program to foster peer leadership and mentorship.
- Create a structured alumni referral process in collaboration with admissions and outreach teams.
- Garner client feedback in the form of testimonials and reviews and use this data to help inform operational, clinical and medical excellence.
- Develop programming and communications that engage families of alumni to support their ongoing recovery journey and connection to the organization.
On-Site Collaboration & Client Engagement
- Coordinate with clinical teams at each location to ensure consistent integration of alumni programming with treatment planning and discharge processes.
- Introduce alumni engagement opportunities to current clients nearing discharge to support smoother transitions and sustained recovery.
- Maintain regular communication with site-level staff to promote awareness of alumni initiatives and ensure alignment with clinical and operational priorities.
Growth & Census Support
- Collaborate with admissions, marketing, and business development teams to align alumni engagement efforts with census goals.
- Design and execute referral campaigns that incentivize and recognize alumni contributions to program growth.
- Support the creation and dissemination of educational and awareness content targeted at alumni and prospective families.
Communications & Storytelling
- Develop alumni-centered content that highlights success stories, promotes hope, and reinforces the impact of treatment.
- Ensure all storytelling and engagement is trauma-informed and compliant with privacy and consent standards.
- Manage the CATC Alumni Application, including maintaining onboarding metrics and showing a ROI on the product month over month against budget and census targets.
Leadership, Strategy & Evaluation
- Manage alumni budgets, engagement tools, and volunteer coordination.
- Provide regular reporting on alumni engagement outcomes and ROI of initiatives, ensuring strategies are data-informed and outcome-focused.
- Collaborate across departments to ensure consistent, mission-aligned messaging in all alumni and family communications.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Health, Social Work, Marketing, or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in alumni engagement, preferably within addiction recovery, healthcare, or nonprofit sectors.
- Demonstrated success supporting organizational growth through alumni programs and referral initiatives.
- Compassionate, mission-driven, and skilled in trauma-informed communication and leadership.
- Proficiency with CRM platforms, engagement tools, and performance tracking.
Preferred Experience
- Personal or professional connection to recovery, mental health, or behavioral health.
- Familiarity with integrated marketing and admissions workflows in a healthcare or treatment setting.
- Experience launching ambassador programs, peer support networks, or alumni-led initiatives.
