Your future role
This is an exciting opportunity to become part of the Alstom Indirect Sourcing team in the North American Region. Based in Montreal, Quebec the role will be responsible to lead sourcing activities on a variety of subjects for Alstom’s Canadian and USA sites.
Responsible for procuring indirect commodities related to ALSTOM operations across Canada and the USA while meeting or exceeding quality, cost and delivery objectives. These include a variety of goods and services to support operations as instructed by management. The Buyer’s objectives are to meet and exceed cost savings targets, quality and delivery performance, and expected service levels. He/she will also get involved with legal, finance, quality and safety matters to ensure supplier compliance to the terms of the contracts and ALSTOM’s standards.
Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Engineering, Operations, Human Resources, Finance, etc.), manage supplier relationships, and lead continuous improvement initiatives, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of executing sourcing strategies, managing vendor performance, and ensuring compliance with procurement processes, but also initiating cost-saving measures and improving service levels.
We’ll look to you for:

Executing RFQs, placing Purchase Orders, and managing vendor relationships

Defining and implementing cost-saving and service improvement plans
-
Collaborating with internal stakeholders to define scopes of work, KPIs, and SLAs
-
Ensuring supplier compliance with contracts and Alstom standards
-
Administering procurement tools and updating price lists and catalogues
-
Leading continuous improvement initiatives to enhance P2P efficiency and compliance
-
Supporting internal and external audits to demonstrate process adherence
This position will report to the Indirect Procurement Manager and will work closely with Indirect Procurement and Commodity Management teams.
Travel is estimated at less than 10%.

Master’s degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Economics, or Business

One or more years of experience in indirect procurement or sourcing-related activities

Ability to develop and implement cost-saving plans and ideas

Proficiency in managing vendor relationships and resolving contractual issues

Experience with e-procurement tools like SAP, SAP Ariba, or similar
-
Strong data gathering and analysis skills
-
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills in a multi-stakeholder environment
-
Proficiency in Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)

Fluency in both English and French
