About the role
Simcoe Parts Service Inc. is a leading 3PL provider for Honda of Canada, employing over 800 people and managing nearly 1 million sq ft of warehouse space. SPS is ISO certified and committed to excellence in safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental standards.
WE ARE HIRING A FINANCE/ACCOUNTING SPECIALIST.
RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
- Prepare and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports
- Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts, investigate any discrepancies
- Develop, maintain and analyze annual budgets
- Monthly BvA analysis
- Assist in forecasting process
- Review monthly corporate report
- Provide support to managers to address accounting related questions
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to support business objectives
- Ensure all government filings are submitted on time
- Accurate preparation and posting of journal entries
- Cash flow reporting
- Submit quarterly reports to the banks to meet loan covenant requirements
- Assist with audits
- Train accounting staff as needed
- Support accounting department with special projects as assigned
PREREQUISITES:
- University or college degree in accounting/business
- CPA or working towards CPA designation
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- Preferred experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/assembly environment
- Strong Analytical Skills & Attention to Details
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamic Navision (asset)
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & OTHER ABILITIES:
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision when required
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office with advanced excel skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
