Join a collaborative, patient-centered team on the Saanich Peninsula!

Shoreline Medical Society is seeking a full-time and part-time Locum Family Physician to provide comprehensive, community-based care on the beautiful Saanich Peninsula, South Vancouver Island. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will contribute to the delivery of exceptional primary health care across two clinic locations and support our mission – to promote health and wellness in our community by providing patient-centered and caring primary health care, while fostering a safe, enriching, and positive work environment.

As a Locum Physician, you will:

  • Provide full or part-time primary care services to Shoreline patients and those of the Saanich Peninsula Youth Clinic.
  • Offer care as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) when covering for Shoreline physicians.
  • Work across both Shoreline clinic locations (Sidney and Brentwood Bay), providing in-person care as scheduled.
  • Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Serve as a preceptor/mentor to medical students, residents, and clinical fellows.
  • Document all services using Shoreline’s EMR, including billing/encounter codes and diagnostic information.
  • Participate in absence coverage, including but not limited to, Summer, Spring, and Winter breaks.

Community Information:

The town of Sidney, population 11,600, located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, is approximately 20 kilometers north of British Columbia's capital, Victoria. Several elementary, middle, and secondary schools, including French immersion, are available in the area.

With its mild climate, the community is a well-known tourist destination offering pursuits ranging from exploring the Ocean Discovery Centre and a historical museum, to water-related activities such as sailing, kayaking, diving, fishing and whale watching. For those preferring to stay on land, Sidney also offers a pedestrian friendly downtown that includes coffee shops, bookstores, restaurants serving local food, and many special town events, like the Sidney Market and the Sidney Fine Arts Show.

Sidney is home to the Swartz Bay BC Ferry Terminal and the Sidney / US (Anacortes, WA) Ferry Terminal, and is in proximity to the Victoria International Airport.
