About the role

POSITION SUMMARY

As a Social Worker, you will play a key role in psychosocial support for students. You will accompany students experiencing various personal or social problems (mental health, substance use, integration, etc.), helping them identify their difficulties, develop appropriate strategies and direct them to the appropriate resources. You will also contribute to the development of an inclusive, caring and safe environment, by ensuring individual interventions, collective prevention actions and close collaboration with internal teams and external partners.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accompany and support students facing mental health, integration, substance use or other psychosocial issues;
  • Intervene with students to help them identify their difficulties, build a personalized action plan and ensure follow-up;
  • Design and implement prevention and awareness tools on various topics (consumption, harassment, substance abuse, etc.);
  • To develop these tools for front-line employees and to support them in their interventions as needed;
  • Ensure a proactive presence in student life spaces in order to identify young people in difficulty and direct them to the appropriate resources;
  • Intervene in crisis situations in collaboration with internal stakeholders (principal, teaching staff, student services, etc.);
  • Develop and maintain a network of public health network partners and community resources;
  • Act as a one-stop shop within the framework of the VCS (Violence, Sexual Behaviour and Consent) Policy;
  • Design, organize and facilitate group workshops that promote social integration, mental health and bonding;
  • Continuously monitor best practices in psychosocial support and school integration;
  • Define the department's performance indicators and update dashboards related to student clientele;
  • Actively participate in discussions aimed at improving the offer of services to students.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Hold a bachelor's degree in social work or a related field;
  • Be a member in good standing of the Ordre des travailleurs sociaux et des thérapeutes conjugaux et familiales du Québec (OTSTCFQ);
  • Have at least 2 to 3 years of experience in intervention with a young or student clientele;
  • Good knowledge of issues related to mental health, cultural diversity, inclusion and educational success;
  • Fluency in the French language (oral and written);
  • Proficiency in the English language at a professional level (oral and written).

This role involves frequent interactions with internal and external customers and partners on a national and global scale. Professional proficiency in English is therefore a requirement for this role.
