Employment Opportunity Full-Time Kindergarten Teacher For 2025-2026 Bishop Routhier School Northland School Division is seeking a Kindergarten Teacher at Bishop Routhier School for the 2025-2026 school year. The start date of this position will be August 25th, 2025. The kindergarten to grade 7 school is located in the Peavine Métis Settlement. The settlement is situated within Big Lakes County and is approximately 56 kilometres north of High Prairie on Highway 750. Major Responsibilities Include
- Following the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
- Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long range planning.
- Provide feedback to students and parents in a regular, timely manner.
- Champion Cree language/culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.
- Support school-parent-community engagement.
- Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative-decision making.
- Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.
Qualifications and Requirements include:
- Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
- Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd.) degree.
- Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
Additionally, should the successful applicant receive a successful evaluation, there may be an opportunity to receive a continuous contract.
