  • Have you completed your second year or are you in your third year of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program or Psychiatric Nursing and looking to showcase your knowledge, skills, and abilities? Island Health is excited to offer the Employed Student Nurse Program. While completing your studies, you can earn an hourly wage and gain practical skills within a healthcare setting. You will receive full support from our multidisciplinary teams and regulatory supervision from Registered Nurses (RNs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Registered Psychiatric Nurses (RPNs). QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Training And Experience- Successful completion of Year 2 of the Collaboration for Academic Education in Nursing Program in BC or equivalent nursing program from another jurisdiction or RPN education program* and continued enrolment in a recognized nursing education program.

  • Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (CPR-C). Eligible for Employed Student Registration with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.- Equivalency to be determined with nursing education program in the jurisdiction where the student is registered.
