Job Details:
Position Title: Project Coordinator
Status: PT Admin Contract
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Faculty/Department: COWD
Campus/Location: North Campus / H221/ Hybrid
Salary: $77,741 per year

About the Project Coordinator Role:

The job holder is responsible for program planning, management, and day-to-day administration of a bridging program(s) for internationally trained individuals (ITI’s), funded by an external funder(s) to Humber College. The job holder is responsible for the day-to-day assignment of work and supervision of program staff, ensuring that the needs of the students are met, and employment targets are attained. Additional duties include program promotion and marketing, recruiting, and screening of applicants, assessing student progress, coordinating employment support activities, providing support and/or referrals for program participants (students) according to their needs, liaising with community partners and employers, and coordinating student bursaries. He/she works collaboratively with a Faculty(-ies) at Humber Polytechnic that supports the delivery of the technical training in the program(s).

Depending on departmental need, he/she may be assigned to coordinate a program other than the one he/she is hired for.

Education

Preference will be given to candidates with a degree/diploma (at least 3 years) in social work, business or public administration, or related field.

Experience/Skills

3-5 years of experience in bridging programs, community employment or settlement services. Knowledge of the electronics/information technology field, Ontario labour market demands in the field, and project management principles are considered strong assets.

A demonstrated awareness of cultural diversity, settlement and integration issues pertaining to newcomers to Canada is critical to be successful in this role. This position requires excellent project management, leadership, communication, and team building skills, superior organizational and problem-solving abilities, and sound financial monitoring experience. Candidates should also have a proven commitment to customer and community service.
