About the role

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustic ceilings. CGC Inc. is currently recruiting an Architectural Sales Representative for our Sales team in Ontario based in the Greater Toronto Area. It's a permanent and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their sales and technical abilities.

Position Summary Looking for an opportunity to apply your eye for design, build relationships and influence the selection of finishing materials? The Architectural Sales Representative applies design, product and technical expertise to promote and gain specifications for CGC/USG’s full line of Ceiling products. This position establishes strong relationships throughout the construction industry. In addition, the position collaborates effectively with CGC’s Architectural and Commercial Sales team, key customers and other relevant industry influencers.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

  • Maximize CGC/USG's short and long-term growth in sales volume, gross profit and industry position, focusing on CGC/USG’s ceiling product portfolio.
  • Proactively develops relationships with architects, designers, spec writers, owners, construction managers and general contractors to increase preference and demand for USG products and systems. Network within the industry.
  • Actively track projects in the early design stages to influence the specification. Maintain and regularly update in Salesforce where CGC/USG is/could be specified and shares the information with the Sales team.
  • Communicates and collaborates with the Architectural Sales team, Ceilings Plus™ design team, Ceilings Division Management, and other CGC/USG departments and divisions. Supports the local Sales team and distribution partners. Collaboration is essential with this entrepreneurial individual contributor role.
  • Launches and promotes target products and programs. Monitors competitive activity and strategically promotes CGC/USG's offering. Works well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Travel may be required in the region. Educates staff and customers on the proper use of CGC products by displaying expert knowledge of CGC products and best practices for applications.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of Architectural Sales or Interior Design Sales experience or a related field preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in architecture, Interior Design, or related field.
  • Design and technical expertise/aptitude required.
  • Comfortable in delivering CEU presentations to all groups (Contractors, Distributors, Architects & Designers).
  • CGC/USG sponsored training will be provided if required.
  • Self-starter with very strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Computer proficiency required in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint etc.). Salesforce is used daily to record and share information. Salesforce experience is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Proven ability to identify key decision makers and build relationships. An adept networker with good interpersonal skills. Membership or participation in at least one industry group involving periodic “off-hour” meetings or events will be expected.
  • Strong listening, written and verbal communication skills (bilingual is considered an asset)
  • Interactive group presentation skills. Customer service and professional selling skills.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to carry 30 pounds and drive a company car (valid driver’s license required).
