About the role
As a Soil Sampling Assistant, you will work closely with the Precision Agronomy team to collect soil samples, record data, and assist with various field tasks when required. You will be required to travel to various locations within the Southern Alberta region.
**Soil Sampling:**Assist in collecting soil samples from designated locations using proper sampling techniques and equipment.
Record Keeping: Accurately record sample locations, depth, and other relevant data in field notebooks and electronic devices.
Sample Delivery: Label, pack, and deliver soil samples to the dealership or a specified location at the end of each workday while adhering to proper handling protocols.
Equipment Maintenance: Regularly maintain and clean the sampling equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.
**Safety Mindset:**Follow all company safety procedures and policies.
Position Details

Full-time temporary from mid-September to mid-December with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.

Days of work will vary from Monday to Saturday of each week.

May be required to work statutory holidays and overtime as scheduled.

Frequent travel within the Southern Alberta region and between dealerships.

Exposure to varying weather conditions. Requires physical fitness and a willingness to engage in field work, which may involve sitting or standing for extended periods.
Requirements
**Education:**High school diploma or equivalent GED.
Experience: Previous experience in environmental sampling or a related field is preferred. Exposure to John Deere agricultural equipment and products is an asset.
Valid Driver's License: You'll need this to travel throughout the region as needed. Driver's abstract required.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to use iPad.
Working Independently: Ability to work independently and follow precise instructions
Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and prioritization skills.
