Community Access Point Assistant
August 21, 2025 to ongoing
Hourly Rate: $20.85 to $24.66
Location: Paddle Prairie
Qualifications:
- A High School Diploma or equivalent;
- Experience working with the public is required;
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite is required;
- Experience with teleconference, video equipment and learning management systems (i.e. teams, D2L, Brightspace) are assets;
- Experience working in educational environments is an asset;
- Criminal record check vulnerable sector;
- A combination of education, training and experience may be considered.
Nature and Scope of Work:
Provide various services to students, staff and the community including but not limited to course delivery, site management, student recruitment, marketing, and learning support.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Client Services
- Customer service
- Provide reception (phone, walk-in)
- Handle inquiries
- Provide information on College programs
- Provide information on Continuing Education & Corporate Training
- Counselling or education planning referrals
- Schedule appointments for:
- Educational planning
- Career planning
- Funding
- Disseminate course/career information
- Maintain educational/career resource libraries
- Facilitate application forms
- Contact applicants as needed
- Applicant inquiry/follow up
- Application and fee collection
Retention Services

Orient students to services and facility

Coach students in time management skills

Coach students in study skills

Provide library assistance

Provide students assistance for Computer use
- How to access e-mail
- How to access online classes
- How to use Moodle for course work and accessing information
- Provide Internet assistance and information on proper internet usage
- Assist students in navigating the Northern Lakes College web site

Arrange appropriate learning environments

Refer students to instructor(s) for remediation or learning consultant if required
Recruitment Services
- Prepare local promotional materials
- Make presentations to local groups
- Distribute promotional materials
- Represent Northern Lakes College at trade shows
- Other recruitment activities as required
- Identify and report training needs and barriers
Community Education Committee (CEC) Services
- Record CEC minutes
- CEC agenda template
- Contact CEC members for meetings
- Set up facility for meetings
- Prepare/disseminate agenda packages
- Preparing the Student Learning Assistant report
- Assist with Council of Community Education Committees (CCEC) report
Distance Delivery Services
- Collect, store, proctor and return exams
- Proctor online exams
- Assist students and instructors with Photocopying, Scanning
- Maintain Xerox Document Centres
- Distribute, collect and return learning materials
- Maintain Student files
- Arrange conferencing connections
- Maintain/troubleshoot learning technologies
Site Management Services
- Open and close facility/rooms
- Arrange for and set up facility as requested
- Maintain schedules and bookings for rooms, equipment and libraries
- Assist in recording student attendance
- Maintain administrative and educational supplies
- Maintain generic campus supplies and learning resources
- Maintain hosting supplies
- Ensure security for equipment, resources, exams, etc.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
