As the Data Quality Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and reliability of data within Fleet and Inventory's business information and maintenance management systems. In this position, you will be responsible for the identification and resolution of data quality issues, the implementation of robust governance processes, and the collaboration with the cross-functional teams across the Corporation to enhance data quality standards necessary to improve the reliability of data to make informed decisions. Primary duty includes:

  • Develop and implement data quality rules, checks, and validations to prevent data quality issues.
  • Conduct data quality audits and assessments to identify areas for improvement.
  • Implement data cleansing and transformation processes to address data quality issues.
  • Conduct validation and verification, rigorously checking data against defined rules, standards, and business requirements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency through SQL queries or using Data Quality Tool when available
  • Work with all data producers and consumers of F&I data to inform the creation, maintenance and adherence and enforcement to the data governance frameworks established both at Corporate and BU levels.
  • Develop and document data quality procedures, processes, and best practices.
  • Analyze data quality issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and supplementary education in Data Science.
  • At least 8 years of progressively more complex and varied data management and quality experience or projects.
  • Intermediate proficiency with data analysis software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, SPSS).
  • Proficiency with at least one programming language (e.g., SQL, Python, or RStudio) is required.
  • Previous experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Power BI, BI LaunchPad) is an asset.
  • Certifications such as a Google Data Analytics Certificate, Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, and SAS Certified Specialist would be considered assets.
  • Demonstrated professionalism, interpersonal skills, political acumen, ability to influence and build consensus, and commitment to fostering relationships across lines of service.
  • The successful candidate will have strong written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to work cross-functionally with business partners, engineers, and other interested parties.
  • Strong aptitude for turning business challenges into data questions and analytical solutions as well as translating complex data into clear, actionable insights.
  • Ability to work independently while remaining an engaged and effective team member.

Workstyle: This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 10 $42.62 - 56.97 per hour

Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day

work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.

Hours of work: Standard 35 hour work week
