About the role
Techmation Electric & Controls Ltd is currently accepting resumes for a Junior Purchaser position with our Fort St John branch. This position will also be responsible for handling shipping and receiving while having the opportunity to learn from our purchasing department to become a Junior Purchaser. Candidates must have a valid drivers license as they will be required to perform hot shots and be in good physical condition as position requires frequent lifting. The shift is Monday to Friday, with 40 hours per week. Previous experience in purchasing is not required.
The job responsibilities for this Shipper/Receiver position are as follows:
- Perform various labour duties within a shop environment
- Conduct parts pickup and deliveries
- Signing in and out company owned equipment while ensuring it is maintained in good working order
- Maintain a clean shop environment
- Use of forklift, bobcat or zoom boom to manage equipment and goods
- Driving Company Supplied Vehicle
- Ship and Receive packages for office and projects
- Maintain a shipping and receiving log
The job responsibilities as a Junior Purchaser are as follows:
- Collate purchase orders, purchase requisitions and TMR's in order-to-order materials, goods, and supplies
- Filing as required
- Interact with the suppliers on a day-to-day basis
- Communicate effectively with management, field staff and customers
- Assist Lead Purchaser with task as requested
Requirements:
- Previous experience in shipping/receiving, hotshot pickup/deliveries, and shop labour is an asset
- Previous purchasing experience would be considered an asset
- Must have a Valid Class 5 drivers license with a Clean Drivers Abstract
- Must have Standard First Aid ticket
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Experience using a forklift is an asset
- Computer working knowledge in excel, outlook, and Microsoft Office 365
- A good knowledge of Fort St John and the Northeast BC area
- Candidates must be located within commuting distance of Fort St John to be considered
